Volunteer Driver

Brainkind Neurological Care Centre Lancashire

About the role

As a Volunteer Driver you’ll provide reliable, safe transportation to and from the Brainkind care centre and help people to access services in the community. The centre has its own van and minibus.

Activities in this role will usually include:

• Providing transport for clients to and from the centre.

• Making sure that the vans/minibus is safe and insured, and reporting any issues to the centre.

• Staying in contact with the centre and informing the nursing team of any concerns you may have about the client.

• Making sure that client information is stored safely.

• Keeping records about the vehicle maintenance and mileage •

How often we’d like your support

We hope you’ll volunteer 3 - 6 hours a week, but all our roles are flexible to suit you

What skills do I need?

Skills and experience you’ll need.

• Have a current driving licence, held for a minimum of one year. A clean driving licence preferable, but penalty points are acceptable dependable on risk assessment carried out by the centre

• Be reliable

• Have a warm, friendly, adaptable, caring approach

• Be able to read a map/sat nav and plan a route

When do I need to be available?

Morning Afternoon Evening

This is a when needed but Volunteer will be informed a head of time, planning will be done with volunteer and team.
