Blind Veterans UK
At this moment in Higham nr Burnley, we have a lovely member who would be absolutely thrilled to spend some time with someone who could join him on a walk. Despite his vision impairment, this member keeps himself fit by walking his local area but would like to explore different spots. Whilst at home he enjoys following the football and has a soft spot for Burnley FC. During his younger years, he was the one being watched as he played battalion football to a high standard. His hobbies include music and literature, and he has also composed songs and created short stories. Outdoor spaces and parks would be a perfect trip if you are able to help.
To gift a couple of hours of your time a week, or evenly fortnightly can really make a difference to our members lives who can often feel quite isolated at home. Volunteering can be very rewarding for those giving and receiving and the positivity can be unmeasurable so please consider being part of something special.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and understand the importance of relationship boundaries. The role can be flexible around your other commitments, but we ask that you are reliable and punctual for our veterans. You will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteering
I am your volunteer co-ordinator, and I would love to find someone who will help put a smile on this members face. You can contact me directly at:
