Blind Veterans UK
At this moment in Accrington, we have a lovely member who would be absolutely thrilled to receive a visit from someone willing to chat about almost anything. His childhood memories, accounts of national service along the Suez canal region, cycling adventures, swimming achievements and a passion for racing pigeons will literally make the time fly!
A couple of hours a week, or evenly fortnightly visits can really make a difference to our members lives who can often feel quite isolated. Volunteering can be very rewarding for those giving and receiving and the positivity can be unmeasurable so please consider being part of something special.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and understand the importance of relationship boundaries. The role can be flexible around your other commitments, but we ask that you are reliable and punctual for our veterans. You will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteering
I am your volunteer coordinator, and I would love to find someone who will help put a smile on this members face. You can contact me directly at:

I look forwards to hearing from you and have a great day.

This lovely veteran would be happy to receive a friendly visitor any time during the day/week. Mindfulness to avoid meal times as he is a resident at a care home.
