Can you help our member in the Bamber Bridge area of Preston? He would really like to look forwards to a trip to an outdoor space like a park or river walk. He is salt of the earth kind of guy and would benefit from spending time with someone who is chatty and outgoing and happy to help him get about in his wheelchair. It doesn't have to be far, a bit of variety, fresh air and a bite to eat somewhere would be perfect. Travel expenses and food would be reimbursed. Our veteran had a firefighter role on the railways during his National Service, and following that he drove wagons up and down the country for a number of years. From there he worked his way up in a scaffolding firm until retirement. He is fond of the beauty of the west coast of Scotland and has even scuba dived off the coast when he was younger. He also enjoys the Rugby. Get in touch if you can help make this veteran's day
To gift a couple of hours of your time a week, or evenly fortnightly can really make a difference to our members lives who can often feel quite isolated at home. Volunteering can be very rewarding for those giving and receiving and the positivity can be unmeasurable so please consider being part of something special.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and understand the importance of relationship boundaries. The role can be flexible around your other commitments, but we ask that you are reliable and punctual for our veterans. You will be fully trained and supported so you feel comfortable and confident in your volunteering
I am your volunteer co-ordinator, and I would love to find someone who will help put a smile on this members face. You can contact me directly at:
