Role and Responsibilities
We are looking for Digital Inclusion Champions to enable the delivery of our Assistive Technology service across our four Galloway’s sites and in the community. Technology is the future and we want to make sure that people living with sight loss have the same opportunities to discover the wide availability of accessible and mainstream technology.
- Working alongside our Learning Skills Coordinator’s you will help facilitate our technology drop in days by demonstrating and supporting clients with Smart phones, tablets, computers and assistive software.
- Helping people make the most of their technology through email and communications, internet browsing, Facebook/social media, audio books, music & video on demand services, specialized apps, staying safe online and much more.
- Helping people make the most of accessibility features on their device such as magnification, audio support and AI assistants such as Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant.
- Helping to deliver support at technology courses and workshops delivered at Galloway’s and in the community.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Providing advice and guidance at technology demo events. Kind, friendly, considerate and fun.No experience required.
Essential Skills
- A general knowledge and keen interest in technology
- Knowledge of specialized assistive technology/willingness to learn
