Digital Champion

Age UK Lancashire

To motivate and inspire older people to make the most of digital technology and support older people to develop their basic digital skills i.e. surfing the internet, emails, social media, online banking etc. in a range of community settings, in a group or on a 1:1 basis.

A Digital Champion doesn’t have to be an IT whizz; they just need to have a bit of spare time, an enjoyment of being online themselves, be fairly confident with using different devices and, most of all, a willingness to help others. The most important skill a volunteer Digital Champion can have is to be enthusiastic about the benefits of being online and be willing to share this with others.
