Crissy's Craft Haven
· Teach volunteers various crafts and skills
· Encourage volunteers to learn from one another using existing skills
·
Encourage other craft
groups to come to us to teach new skills
· Once skill sets are at a high enough level, encourage Residential and Nursing Homes to engage the volunteers to provide activities for their residents
The aim of the project is to provide craft orientated activities and workshops in Darwen to teach participants and volunteers the skills needed to be able to teach others within all the communities of Darwen and Blackburn, but initially taking place at the Number 1 coffee shop.
The projects larger aims are to go into residential care homes in the Borough to provide activities for residents but to do this we need to train volunteer with the skills needed to do this
Existing crafting skills would obviously be of benefit but most essential is the willingness and enthusiasm to learn and take part in crafting.
Enthusiasm to use recycled materials highlighting the need to take care of our environment
Experienced crafter already part of group so a willingness to take in new information and learn new skills
To care about the older and more vulnerable people in our communities as we will be going to them to provide activities
