Make a Real Difference — Volunteer with Lagan’s Foundation!


Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer role where you can make a lifelong difference to children and families?

Would you love to bring a smile to someone’s day?

Got 2 hours or more to spare each week — every Sunday, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm?


Lagan’s Foundation is looking for caring and compassionate volunteers to support families by helping care for children, giving parents the vital break they deserve. The children we support have poorly hearts or feeding difficulties, and your time can make a world of difference to them — and to their families. 


 About the Role


Location: Preston (PR25) – travel expenses can be claimed


Commitment: Minimum of 2 hours per week (Sundays 10:30 am – 12:30 pm)


Your role:


Attend our induction training


Visit the family home to offer hands-on support


Play, engage, and care for children aged 0–5 with feeding or cardiac conditions


Help with routines such as nappy changes, toileting, or personal care


Support with medication administration (full training provided)

 What We Ask From You


A driving licence and car are helpful but not essential


Must live within easy reach of PR25 (or be able to travel reliably each week)


Able to provide or complete an Enhanced DBS check (on the update system)


A kind heart, reliability, and a genuine desire to support families

Team Player: You’re happy to work alongside other volunteers, coordinators, and families to ensure the best care possible.


Adaptable and Calm: You can handle unexpected situations with understanding and reassurance.


Committed and Trustworthy: You’re reliable and value the impact your time and care have on others.
