Assistant Cub Scout Leader

Are you looking for a rewarding way to give back to your community and help young people develop skills for life? Ashton Central Scout Group is looking for a volunteer Assistant Cub Leader to support our Cub section (ages 8–10½).


As an Assistant Cub Leader, you’ll help deliver fun, adventurous, and engaging weekly meetings alongside a friendly team of leaders. Activities include games, outdoor adventures, creative challenges, and learning practical skills that help young people grow in confidence, teamwork, and independence.


What you’ll do


Support the Cub Leader and other assistant Leaders in planning and running weekly meetings

Help deliver a varied programme of games, activities, and outdoor experiences

Encourage and support young people to try new things and build confidence

Assist with occasional trips, camps, and events

Work as part of a supportive leadership team

What we’re looking for


Someone enthusiastic and positive about working with young people

Good teamwork and communication skills

Reliability and a willingness to get involved

No previous Scouting experience required – training and support are provided
